Announcement of new Chair and Deputy
Endeavour Foundation is pleased to announce the election of Elizabeth Jameson AM as Chair of the board of directors of Endeavour Foundation, and Scott Ellis as Deputy Chair.
The election of Elizabeth and Scott followed the resignation of Richard Haire as Chair in February this year.
Richard said that “with David Swain and his new executive team in place, it is the right time to pass on the reins.” Richard joined the board in 2018 and remains committed to continue as a director until this year’s AGM.
About Elizabeth
Two years into her term of office on the board, Elizabeth has a passion for the work of Endeavour Foundation and those we serve, having been a Life Member for over 40 years. Her passion stemmed from the long-term involvement of her parents Marie - whose work life was dedicated to children with intellectual disabilities - and Bill, a former Treasurer and Chair of Endeavour Foundation. Elizabeth brings to the role her own relevant background as a lawyer of over 30 years standing and founder of a national governance consultancy firm that continues today, two decades later, to work with hundreds of not-for-profits and charities across Australia. She has had a key role within the board in stewarding the current review of the governance of Endeavour Foundation.
“I am honoured to follow in Richard’s footsteps as well as those who have gone before for over 70 years to make Endeavour Foundation what it is today,” she said. “I believe that with continuing good stewardship Endeavour Foundation can continue long into the future to serve our clients and their families even better.”
About Scott
Newly elected Deputy Chair Scott Ellis was first elected as a director in 2013. Scott is the decision-maker and NDIS plan nominee for his older brother living with an intellectual disability and also has a brother-in-law living with a disability. He has been around the Endeavour Foundation community for more than 40 years. Scott has a background in commercial and corporate finance across diversified industries and is now CEO of a property consulting business.
CEO David Swain also expressed his sincere thanks to outgoing Chair, Richard Haire, and Deputy Chair, Yvonne Keane AM, for their time, dedication and service in these voluntary roles over the past several years.
“They have left the board in good shape, ready to tackle the many strategic challenges that lie ahead for Endeavour Foundation,” Mr Swain said.
