Endeavour Foundation working with Defence
Defence Assistance Program
Our partnership with the Department of Defence is based on shared goals and seeks to revolutionise what people with disability can achieve in the workplace. Together, we support Defence personnel to focus on their core duties and contribute to capability through inclusion.
What is the Defence Assistance Program?
Established in 2014, the Defence Assistance Program provides employment for people with disability across ten Australian Defence Force bases. Employment opportunities are a critical part of an inclusive and empowering community for people with disability. The Defence Assistance Program strongly contributes to the Australian Public Service Disability Employment Strategy 2020-25.
By joining the Defence Assistance Program you can work in a safe and supportive work environment. Working at an Australian Defence Force base is a unique opportunity. You will complete tasks that enable Defence Force personnel to focus on the Defence mission of defending Australia.
Endeavour Foundation is directly responsible for the Defence Assistance Program at ten Defence sites nationally. We directly employ staff in QLD, NSW, SA, NT and VIC. We work with service partners to deliver the Defence Assistance Program in ACT and WA.
The Defence Assistance Program is funded through the NDIS in a supported workplace. You can use it to grow your skills in a safe space. The program can be a pathway into mainstream employment.
