What is a SIL?
Supported Independent Living (SIL) is support you receive at home to help you live as independently as possible. SIL funding is typically for people who need 24/7 support. It exists to cover the cost of the support staff in your home.
Under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), accommodation and support are considered separately. Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) is a specific category of accommodation under the NDIS. This gives you more choice and control over where you live and the services you use.
