Accessible Tourism Australia – Holidays for Everyone
As part of our ongoing efforts to promote the expansion of accessible tourism opportunities in Australia, we reveal the perfect spot for an amazing holiday experience.
Everyone should have the chance to enjoy Australia’s epic beauty.
It is why we are proud advocates of accessible tourism.
And we are thrilled to share with you our latest accessible tourism video, which aligns with the Queensland Government’s Year of Accessible Tourism initiative.
The video celebrates Queensland’s stunning Whitsunday region and proudly features Jenny and Charlie from our Cannonvale Learning and Lifestyle hub.
The pair eagerly stepped in front of the cameras to showcase their incredible holiday haven and show how everyone can have an unforgettable getaway.

A Commitment to Inclusivity
We are passionate about making tourism accessible to everyone. That is why we have partnered with exceptional tourism operators that share our commitment to inclusivity.
These operators go the extra mile to cater to diverse needs, offering amenities like beach wheelchairs, ramp access and considerate noise levels.
One exciting innovation is the introduction of Toby, a two-year-old border collie, who will become the region’s first onboard therapy dog for luxury charter company, Ocean Dynamics. Toby’s presence offers comfort and support for those experiencing anxiety.
In partnership with Ocean Dynamics, we are also excited to introduce multi-use, waterproof headsets that filter out distressing noises and enhance the overall experience of water-based activities.
These headsets allow for communication with tour operators, ensuring a comfortable adventure for all.
The Importance of Accessible Tourism
Recent statistics show that holidaymakers with accessibility needs now account for 23% of all domestic holidays in Australia, translating to 18.5 million trips worth $6.8 billion.
These numbers highlight the growing importance of making tourism accessible to all.
We encourage all tourism operators to embrace inclusivity by making critical adjustments, like installing ramps, offering quiet spaces and enlisting therapy dogs when needed.
Open communication is key. Asking visitors about their needs can make a significant difference.
As we champion accessible tourism, we celebrate the joy of travel for everyone.
